What are inversions?
An inversion in music is a chord or interval which is “upside down.” For example, if you invert an interval of a 3rd, you get an interval of a 6th. If you invert a C chord in root position, for example, you turn it on it’s head so that C is no longer on the bottom, but now is either the middle or the top note of the chord.
