Silver Bells For Piano Using 3rds & Echos
Silver Bells For Piano Using 3rds & Echos
Good morning. This is Duane and Merry Christmas again. Silver Bells For Piano Using 3rds And Echos. Let’s take a look today at Silver Bells, old familiar tune and I I think we are going to use 3rds and Echos here, maybe active 3rds but let’s try at 3rds first. The theme of course is … it only goes like that, so you play it 3rd under the belly. And use all five fingers. Don’t play like … you can never get smooth doing that.
Now, people do it two way. Some people play it smooth. Silver bells, and others play Silver Bell. Sing it pays, so whatever you like. The next phrase is, just the same as that except we are starting in A, and again in 3rds and then. See, it’s really the same thing.
And then, I wouldn’t use a 3rd under that note because it’s not going to sound right, it’s not a member of the chords, so you could play as 4th or 6th. And then you can do parallels and 3rds going down.
Okay, now, those are the 3rds. Now, let’s do an Echo. Silver bells, now push your pedal down and echo it. Play the same thing in active five. in the left hand you can simply chord if you want to like this. Another there is one. One, two, three. One, two, three. Playing a C6 here which you can play in C if you want and it depends on how it ensure, okay.
I think I’ll start up here and then go up there. Listen. Then the verse goes something like this. Now it’s coming right now the city C6 chord and this is C6 chord. Let’s do it in symbols. I mean, active 3rds. I know there is synergy at 3rd play an active and melody and put a 3rd note in the top note and echo it.
Here is what I’m doing, I’m playing offset actives. You don’t have to do that, you can just play if you want but if you want to do this then play the top two notes bottom one, triple lift, triple lift. in the left one, I walked up from G A B.
Okay pretty simple. Just two things, parallel 3rds and Echos and you can do those in either 3rds or active 3rds. Okay and then the left hand like I said you just chord if you want but it’s waltz chording. One, two, three. One, two, three. One, two, three. One, two, three, and then on this part it goes down like that. I just walk up from my left and G A B and back to the thing.
Okay, that’s it for Silver Bells. Just a few ideas. We’ll see you again tomorrow with another Christmas tune. Bye-bye for now.
