2. " The Secret of Arranging Spectacularly Beautiful Christmas Carols!"

    This is a wonderful 2-hour video on playing and arranging Christmas carols, complete with a booklet of the songs we arrange together. We start out with a lush version of " Silent Night", using many chord substitutions that I explain as we go. We also use echoes, half-step slides, arps, and rapid-fire right hand runs. Then we move to " Joy to the World", using two different styles -- a "chimes" version (complete with "big-ben"), and also a rhythmic style that you will absolutely love! Then we do a haunting version of " We Three Kings", using some "bluesy" techniques and some hand-over arps and some grace notes. After that we arrange " Angels We Have Heard On High", using an Alberti Bass style plus a walking bass octave style in 8th notes in the left hand that is really exciting.

     This video, by the way, is for people who already read music and can play carols as they are written on the sheet music, but want to learn how to make them more interesting, exciting, nostalgic, and just more beautiful.
